Just finished setting up OpenClaw on a cloud VPS. I'll be chatting with it over a private Discord server/channel. I've set it to use anthropic/claude-opus-4-6, so it should be quite powerful. Fun times ahead. OpenClaw is burning through tokens like crazy. Had to revert to more basic models after shelling out $35 in three hours.…

Progress on home energy tracking, but many more devices still need to be added. Shelly EM-50 will help cover more of the untracked consumption
102% rise in gold price since Jan 1, 2025. This can’t be good.

Slightly over 5000 km driven with our new Tesla in the three months since we got it. The app estimates 625 BGN (320 EUR) in savings compared to an ICE vehicle. Actual savings are even higher, as 16% of the charged power is free PV produced at home.

Our heat pump spent 103 minutes defrosting today, with two more hours to go. Not ideal, but such days are rare. It's foggy outside, with temperatures around freezing.

Impressive Frigate performance optimization using Gemini. My Raspberry Pi 5 + Coral TPU setup handling 8 cameras has seen a 38% drop in CPU usage, despite increasing the detection frame rate from 4 to 5. Gemini made several smart suggestions, including generating a shell script to ffprobe camera streams and determine their characteristics, splitting and…

I've been running TeslaMate for about a month and am quite impressed by the detailed metrics it collects, especially the precise indoor and underground garage position tracking. I assume it's based on vehicle speed and wheel direction.

She’s efficiency queen, 2*C outside now, driving around Sofia, TM3 LR AWD

Just completed ESP32-based local BLE controls for my Tesla in Home Assistant using https://github.com/PedroKTFC/esphome-tesla-ble Experimenting with primitive GUI for the ESP32 Tesla remote

Too cold outside, Tesla won’t start. Any tips?

Our Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pump’s COP vs outside temperature:

7.4MWh solar power production at home in 2025, not bad

Our Tesla’s charging port logo’s green LED in the RGB died, so the logo is now purplish instead of white when idle and reddish instead of green when charging. Scheduled a free service replacement, but overall not cool.

Preparing for HomeLink: retrofitting actuators on the two doors we have and ordering the Tesla HomeLink module. The HomeLink module arrived today.Installation was easy. Very happy with it!

Created an n8n workflow that checks our electricity provider's site for planned downtime and notifies us ahead of time.

Can't get enough of that "free" EV charging 😉

New car—why not take it apart? 🙂 Installing Enhance’s commander and stalks.

This is confusing. What’s wrong, @Apple?

Picked up a paint thickness meter just because. Tried it on one of our cars – turns out it had a full repaint job, plus a little filler surprise on the rear door. Oh, well

I mow the leafs into compact mulch for compost, rather than using a leaf blower.. anyone else doing this 🙂

Fronius smart meter died at 4am today, leaving the solar system inoperable. No obvious signs of damage. Luckily I had a spare and replaced it, but wondering what happened..

At Prohodna cave, amazing place

New in Home Assistant 2025.8: AI Tasks. My outdoor cameras now scan the lawn for obstacles before activating irrigation sprinklers. See how they spotted a beanbag left on the lawn and skipped the irrigation cycle. Pretty neat

Replaced 5 of my old mechanical irrigation timers with Sonoff zigbee ones. Should have done that much earlier. Integration in home assistant was painless.

Agent "Hultch" will scan JIRA defects' comments for discussion closure and mention you with TODOs. Names are fictional. Any similarity is a definite coincidence. #AIAgent

Testing n8n AI agents: subscribing to YouTube channels, transcribing videos, analyzing sentiment, and emailing summaries. Easier setup than Node-RED so far.. The AI agent now monitors 89 relevant YouTube channels. It collects the transcripts in a spreadsheets and sends me a summary email at the end of the day.

Added a water reservoir level meter to my home automation system. Works as expected, and is supported by Z2M https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/ME201WZ.html#tuya-me201wz

How does one admit they need help to stop adding Zigbee devices to their network? Asking for a friend..

Our brand-new #novoferm door comes with abstract art paint splashes on half the panels. Replacement in four weeks. “Made in Germany” isn’t what it used to be.

Interesting new Zigbee soil moisture sensor by Third Realty. Looks well built, capacitive sensing, single AA battery powered. Also measures temperature, integrates in Home Assistant through Z2M
