Fronius smart meter died at 4am today, leaving the solar system inoperable. No obvious signs of damage. Luckily I had a spare and replaced it, but wondering what happened..
6.4kWp @Fronius PV system produced 7.05 MWh
In 2023, our 6.4kWp @Fronius PV system produced 7.05 MWh, fulfilling 60% of our electrical needs and saving us ~920 EUR. Our 7.68kWh BYD battery stored 1.83 MWh for later use and the OhmPilot diverter captured an extra 1.84 MWh, boosting our self-consumption by about 26%. #solar

@froniussolar please consider to add the possibility to put the Ohmpilot in BOOST mode from the solarweb app, now this is only possible via triple press of the physical button. A proper IoT solution supposes full remote control from anywhere:) Thank you !

Fronius Ohmpilot and PT1000 temp. sensor
Received a @froniussolar Ohmpilot today. It diverts the available PV excess to a hot water tank (or any resistive load), in my case 0-2400W stepless regulation. Installation was trivial. The package did not include a PT1000 temp. sensor,ordering one separately for more control
DC side surge protection device
Installed a DC side surge protection device to my @froniussolar GEN24 #solar inverter. It comes as retrofit option, installs in under 20 min. A lightning strike nearby can induce damaging voltages in the wires from the rooftop panels 30m away, this SPD takes care of such cases
Fronius WattPilot EV charger
The @froniussolar WattPilot EV charger just arrived. This is the 22kW model, we have single phase installation, so max 7.4KW would be available. Can be configured to only charge using PV surplus, and supposedly works with zero feed-in. I don’t own an EV yet,will rent one to test.

Woohoo! My @froniussolar Primo GEN24 6.0 kW hybrid solar inverter just arrived 🙂 It took two and half months after the order, so global chip shortages and high demand are affecting this industry as well. If you try to order one today, delivery times are close to a year now.. crazy times
Fronius Smart Meter
Received the Fronius Smart Meter, it limits the power export of my yet-to-build solar roof installation. Exporting power here is a bureaucratic hell, I will not subject myself to it by zeroing on the export. The inverter itself, a @froniussolar Primo GEN24 5kW due in 3 months 🙁
