I have a couple problematic units that won’t defrost but I believe the ‘oil return mode’
Bottom line is IMHO, that their ‘oil recovery mode’ is causing a partial unintended defrost of the outdoor coil with then leaves a refreeze of the slush to hard clear ice……..a heat pump can’t deal with this so they start to ice up and then it gets worse and worse from more partial defrosts.
What is your sense? I have been self employed for 45 years and have built some of my own proprietary very wild systems. Love to talk.

Please tell how did you managed to fool the inside air temp sensor to much higher temps of the plate heat exchanger.

Used a potentiometer in series to the thermistor to find suitable value
